Had possibly the best mixed grill I've ever had ?. Staff were lovely. Fast service. Has a beautiful garden eating area too. Top notch really ??

We walked in and were spoken to in a hostile way to see our vaccination pass. There was no greeting: hello or welcome. They also didn’t start their cooked meals till 9:30am, which we needed earlier because the cycle around lake Dunstan starts at 9am. However the decor was nice, the almond croissant lacked almonds yet was a pleasant change in texture from most Auckland croissants. The Tan slice was pleasant but they didn’t have yoghurt only cream yet the temperature was quite warm.

Lovely food, great coffee served promptly by very pleasent staff, and the local Alexandra Highland Pipe Band was playing just across the road. What a treat

My husband had a lovely all day breakfast. I chose the salmon and eggs. There was so much sauce I had to scrape off 80% of it to see the salmon and eggs. Which in effect made my toast soggy and inedible. Would go back but definitely get the sauce on the side

Had a really late lunch here and it was very nice. The cheese roll was shared by us two Aucklanders, now I know why South Islanders rave over it. Had poached eggs and corn fritters with slaw and added bacon. It was delicious and so ample I could only eat half.

My friend and I got the pasta salad in the small serving size and it was sufficient as a meal for me at least! Tasted great too. Service was great and quick , tables are arranged such that it doesn’t feel crowded even if it’s full. Toilet was clean. Just a couple of birds that kept flying in and getting trapped so they will be zooming around near the tables just by the door leading to the alfresco seating area.
