★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing visit given the great reviews. Food was a mixed bag. The scallop entrée was terrible, with tiny scallops and an excess of accompaniments. The pate was lovely however. Mains were hit and miss. The ribeye steak was ordered medium rare and was rare at best. I don’t mind rare steak but it has to be premium melt in the mouth and this was not. Unfortunately I sent it back so they could recover it. In the end it was ok. The pork belly was nice without being exceptional. Desserts were nice. Overall, as a fine dining experience, it was overpriced and underwhelming. On the positive side the staff were friendly and accommodating but I can’t imagine returning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cosy place for a drink before dinner. The food was outstanding, especially the venison. Great service, great atmosphere. Loved it. And in the morning we enjoyed lots of treats from their bakery. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, however everything is overpriced and the selection of bar meals is honestly disappointing. Roughly $15 for 4 bits of toast covered in garlic butter- what a rip off. My friend ordered a lemon lime and bitters and the bartender poured an astronomical amount of bitters on the top and then served it which is the incorrect way to make it and it therefore tasted horrible- no one wants a mouthful of bitters. Also the heads on the beer were taking up about a quarter of the glass which just shows lack of care and pride in the work. They also had a band playing which sounded like a bag of cats were being strangled so was very hard to enjoy the afternoon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a restaurant located in an old Victorian building, therefore it comes with all the old school charm. The ambience and layout is classy but not too over the top.
Good - We ordered tha lamb rump and pork belly for dinner. The meals were promptly prepared and served. The pork belly was nicely cooked with very crunchy skin. The lamb rump portions were generous but the texture of the meat in the mouth was different from most lamb we have had.
Service - the service was nice and efficient, starting from the nice young man at the bar to the wait staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful venue with excellent service. The food was great, but our minds weren’t blown. Duck liver pâté was one of the best I’ve had. Good selection of wine. Would come again, but would try some different options. Atmosphere was slightly lacking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice historical building well refurbished and restorated.
The entrance slightly confusing, however the interior was well thought out and invokes the feeling of another era.
The warmth was unfortunately lost with pressure of performance by the staff, and no doubt inexperience and training for their appointed roles.
The food was excellent and balanced, well presented and prepared. The wait however was a little more than it should of been for the entrée.
Very little in the way of great wines by the glass, which is a shame consideration given the fact that the place is so close to some fantastic "Local" vineyards which could easily replace the usual big New Zealand names that reflect other parts of the country.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This excellent restaurant is located on the main street of Clyde. The historically themed setting has been beautifully restored and has both indoor and outdoor areas. The food, presentation and service was excellent. High quality all round. Definitely recommend to all fans of fine dining.
