β β β β β My mother and I were looking forward to experience high tea, she had booked it for Friday 1 pm, one day prior she got a phone call that our booking was canceled because a wedding was going to take place so she would book us for the Friday the following week. We drove 60 km (live in the country ) for our special outing, when we got there we were not even on the booked list and the manager said she could not accommodate us, unfortunately. We were very very disappointed to say the least, very rude and certainly would not recommend at all, poor service.

β β β β β We were looking forward to our High Tea at Mona Vale but unfortunately it was not a good experience. On arrival we were seated and told to choose our drink option( tea or coffee) which we did and that our scones with cream and jam would come out. The tea arrived and half an hour later we were still waiting for food and had drunk the tea. Eventually after asking several waitresses our high tea arrived with a scone included but no jam or cream. This came after we asked for it and also a clean cup ( also requested before pouring the tea) While waiting for the food to arrive we were beginning to feel stressed so thought a glass of wine might help. We requested this ( bubbles had run out) so got a Rose and once again it didn't arrive. We were halfway through our food before going up to the counter to look for it. The positives were that the food was good and the very young staff did their best but were just overworked. This was a Grabone treat and I think that Mona Vale should only offer the number of sittings that they can manage with their staff numbers. I have had several other High Teas at other places and this would rate the lowest unfortunately.To add to these problems we also had a wobbly table and the rubbish tin in the Toilets was over flowing right out onto the floor. This was not the Special Treat planned for my daughter's birthday!!

β β β β β Stunning garden views from restaurant, slow service. Was a pre-booked high tea. The waitresses were obviously under pressure and after several requests finally got our hot drinks after waiting over a hour then they were clearing our table and rearranging tables right around us - made us feel pressured to leave long before we were ready. Was not the nice leisurely experience we had expected.

We had the belly pork and the beef ribs, so good. All we could hear around the restaurant were comments complementing the food. Definitely coming back very soon ?

β β β β β Have stopped in for a coffee and scone on numerous occasions while out walking, same experience every time, either coffee arrives first and after drinking it scone still hasn't arrived, or scone arrives and no drinks. Having to remind staff you are still waiting isn't good customer experience, staff need to concentrate on completing an order and ensuring customers have their order, also clear the tables outside in a more timely manner as people don't want to sit at a table with dirty dishes etc.

β β β β β We had a GrabOne voucher which offered 2 mains and 2 glasses of house wine at a much reduced rate than normal. We both chose pork belly and a side of potatoes (extra for that).
It was perfect. Looked good on the plate, tasted even greater and we left very satisfied with the entire experience.
However, there was just the one let-down and that was with waiting staff. Of the 2 young ladies on deck, one was very efficient but the other struggled a bit to keep up the standard, mixing tables and asking coffee orders at the beginning of the meal. That aside, we'd love to return, preferably when the roses are blooming and again, while the sun was shining.

β β β β β This place is beautiful, but very expensive. Not enough balanced vegan options. I also don't like to see baked goods sitting on top of the counter uncovered. Beautiful surroundings.

β β β β β Located in the beautiful Mona vale. The stars goes to the prestigious location. This restaurant is over rated for both food and services. Staff were slow and inexperienced. The wait was long and we were left with content of the high tea unexplained. High tea was below average compared to other restaurants that offer high tea such as penny black at the Tannery, the market at Crown Plaza, and 50 bistro at the George. My tea was served in plunger instead of tea pot. Very disappointed and would not recommend.
