About Montessori Beginnings Preschool
A qualified early childhood and primary school teacher, Katie has more than 25 years’ experience working in education both in New Zealand and in the UK. Growing up in Taranaki as one of seven children, Katie learnt to value both independence and resilience, qualities she believes are crucial for all children as they grow.
The wellbeing of the children at the centre is her top priority, and Katie has invested much time and effort into developing Montessori Beginnings into the warm, nurturing, well-equipped facility it is today. As a mum herself, she wanted to create an environment she would be happy to send her own child to.
Katie has owned and operated Montessori Beginnings, together with her husband Paddy, since 2014.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This school has come highly recommended by 2 other mums in Gulf Harbour and I can now see why. My first impression of the school was much calmer and tidier than expected. Our 4 year old son loves and thrives in this preschool. I cannot rave this preschool enough. Every single teacher I’ve met at every drop off and pick ups has been so personable and cheerful. They actually look like they want to be there. I wished our 8 year daughter attended this preschool too as we did not have such kind and personable experience unfortunately for her. Keep up the great culture Katie! Working mums like me truly appreciate that our children are in the kindest and best care.
