β β β β β I used to work at this restaurant. Do Not go here. The process of making foods is so dirty and never hygienic. They reused ingredients and never changed their gloves. After working here I couldn't eat sushi

β β β β β Best sushi shop in Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. The sushi are very delicious, fresh and reasonably priced, ranging from $1 to $2.80 per piece. Crumbed chicken, sweet chicken skewers and cal chicken rolls are personal favourites. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, must try the vegan pumpkin sushi and spring roll sushi. 5 minute walk to the beach so great for after swim lunch. Friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

β β β β β I've eaten sushi all around the world with the exception of Japan, and as someone who grew up on San Francisco sushi my standards are extremely high but this is hands down the best gourmet sushi i have ever eaten in my life, it almost makes me want to live in Tauranga, almost, its that good.

β β β β β You have to show your vaccine pass which is great but there are 2 problems with the way it's done. Firstly after you have selected your items and bring it to the counter ready to pay they firstly ask for your pass. The problem us what happens to all that sushi if you don't have a pass? Second instead of looking at your pass and scanning it they take your phone to scan it, they should scan it while you hold your phone. Some places just visually look at your pass which for a small place like mount sushi should be enough or scan before letting people select items not after.

β β β β β Great option for a fast service with tasty food. Wide variety of Japanese sushi ready available to pick it up from the counter. It was fresh and delicious when we visited on 4th of January 2018. Located at the heart of Mount Maunganui, opens late and satisfies belly and soul. You pick your favorite drink from the fridge beside the cashier. No toilets for the public. Watch for birds trying to steal your food.

β β β β β Exorbitant prices for the menu foods. $26 for a bento box that you could get for an entire ten bucks less just down the street. Not an appropriate price for a downmarket sushi shop. Same impression goes for the ramen, salads etc. The food is fine - what you'd expect for any other sushi shop in town at a much lower price. Also note there are no bathrooms here, closest public ones at the hopukiore playground.
