★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome ride today....tracks are mint.....Te pouwaka was a fav...super flowy and fast...easy riding....eagle vs shark....1st time riding it since I crashed the start 2 years ago and broke my arm, dislocated my shoulder and severed a nerve....all good today....fun times. ?????♂️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whakarewarewa Forest car park on the Tarawera Side - it's never as busy as the main car park & has heaps of parking available with excellent, well maintained facilities including toilets and showers. They now have a bike hire and a cafe up and running.
The trails on this side are more fun and more varied provided you don't mind a bit of uphill riding to access them. They have a shuttle bus that runs up the hill - check the FB page for details.

Drinking water and bike wash.Catch a shuttle from here for that quick access to the great hill trails.Great view of the carpark riding down from Eagke Versus Shark trail.
