Mud Ducks Cafe - Mud Ducks Cafe 31 Taupo Quay
About Mud Ducks Cafe
We go way back, for good reason too. Mud Ducks was established in 2011 by Tim Watson (he’s the big duck around here) and his cousin, Kim Sills. We don’t think we’re biased in saying that we’re Whanganui’s coolest riverside eatery.
At Mud Ducks we believe in having fun, it’s at the heart of what we do. That’s why we don’t take ourselves too seriously, in fact we’re pretty quack up.
We strive to create unforgettable guest experiences, through slick and engaged service. Our team are proud and passionate about what we do and care about making real connections with you, the customer. That’s why we’re the ducks nuts.

β β β β β Bacon undercooked and flabby despite my request for it to be crispy, eggs also undercooked, and the big breakfast cost $30!!! Pretty outrageous!! Coffee also mediocre, so overall a very disappointing experience

β β β β β Busy, popular cafe in a perfect location for either town or river. Good selection of cabinet foods and a decent menu for brunch or lunch. Efficient, friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating.

β β β β β Hubby and I got takeaway lunches from Mud ducks today so we could eat on the grass outside. We got served straight away by lovely staff & what a great vegetarian menu! We loved our wholesome and delicious lunch & we will be back!

β β β β β Giving a 3 as the takeaway coffee was $7.50! I made sure it was good before I left. Good coffee but this price is actuallt outrageous. And was told it was due to inflation! Wellington and Melbourne do not and have not charged this much ever, let alone Whanganui....sorry, but you can buy 2 litres of oat milk for that and it coat 50 cents if that for a cafe to make a coffee

β β β β β December 2021: what a breakfast. Everything was fresh and flavoursome. So was the coffee. It was enough to last through to a mid afternoon snack.

β β β β β After NOT being served at The Boatshed and us walking out, we decided to go to Mud Ducks Cafe and what a wonderful surprise ? Lovely greetings from the staff and instantly looked after. Food was amazing !!!!! My Partner had the Super Breakfast and looked and tasted exceptional. I had the Green Thai Curry with Prawns and it too was PERFECT. We will definitely be back !! Thank you x
