★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whilst their home on the hill is being earthquake strengthened the gallery is in two temporary homes across the street from each other. Some regional galleries punch well above their weight and this is one of them. This trip I enjoyed the exhibition of the photographs of Sara McIntyre with a couple of paintings from her father talented Peter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful space, beautiful art. I went with a school group and the host Sietske was amazing. She was so natural with the children, asking questions, listening to them and explaining the art. Then the children were able to make their own art, inspired by what they had seen.
