Our TeamSouth & East Auckland Coordinator
My name is Stephanie Hawkins and I am Mum to my 2 children. I have a Diploma of Teaching ECE with Full Registration and First Aid Certificate. I have been working in Early Childhood for 25 years. My last teaching position was with Just Kidz Educare. During this time I had the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s leading teachers, developing the centre into a centre of innovation in Technology.
I decided to become a Coordinator in home based childcare after working part time as a Coordinator support for Nestlings. Although new to home-based care as a coordinator, I bring with me a strong understanding of curriculum and current theory and have worked as a home based educator during my children's early learning years.

Manager and Auckland Wide Coordinator
My name is Kiryth Reddish and I am Mum to my son Cooper and daughter Holly. I have a Bachelor Of Education ECE with Full registration and first aid certificate. I have been working in Early Childhood for 25 years. My last teaching position was with the Auckland Kindergarten Association. I have also had the opportunity to work manage and supervise early childhood day care centre’s for 15 years. Prior to Childcare centre work and management I had the opportunity to work directly with special needs children at Mt Richmond special school and enjoyed working as a teacher overseas.
I decided to become a Coordinator in Home-Based Childcare after becoming a mum to little Holly, with the belief that she did not have the personality for day care. I looked around and discovered the advantages of home-based care. Although new to home based care I bring with me the knowledge of working in such a vast array of teaching environments. Information you can only get from working alongside some of the great teachers early childhood has to offer.
I look forward to sharing that knowledge with all Nestlings Educators and families.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my son with one of their carers. She had over committed herself and was never there for drop off. When I raised it with her she wouldn’t acknowledge that she couldn’t get back to her house on time and needed me to wait as she didn’t have time for me to go and do what I needed to and then come back. I also work so had several instances of having a client to see and a child with no one to look after him. I was charged for public holidays. I still had to pay when she had her hospital appointment. In the end she owed me 5 1/2 days from just not being available. One dad pulled his baby out after having to kick her door in. I can’t imagine why any parent would be in that situation. When I asked for learning stories I was fobbed off. She wouldn’t give me a refund after not being there on a really important morning and making out like I was late. It was at this point that I said it wasnt working. After complaining to the owner and asking for a refund, their answer was that they felt she’d done a good job wjth the learning stories - once they sent through access (telling me the first invite was in my spam but it’s not there), there are maybe 4 days of records. Their website says they will update daily so to have no updates and only 4 learning stories from 3 months, I’m a bit miffed. The owner says from their experience that most centres would only update once a term. So that’s 4 updates a year and an indication of the bar they’ve set themselves to strive for.
I have also questioned their car seat set up because from what I saw, it’s not set up correctly and their carer is uneducated in car seat safety. The PlayStation was on almost daily in the afternoons and there is not a time I went at drop off or pick up when the tv wasn’t on. I also signed in to the service maybe twice which means there’s a heck of a lot of days they don’t have sign off on amongst other things.
I have never left anyone, not even those who I’ve had a poor service from, a bad review before. Unfortunately though, I would not recommend anyone uses Nestling’s at all. They do not take the care of someone else’s child seriously or concerns of parents and have been a nightmare to deal with including having video calls and messages from the carer since cancelling the service (which I have just ignored)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter was in care at one of the home based educators in Howick. Whenever we dropped her off or picked her up the TV with cartoons was on.. After 2 weeks I asked the educator how much TV my daughter is watching here and she got upset She said she can't manage children without the TV, and it belongs to her everyday life, they eat breakfast in front of the TV with her family
and she doesn't like if someone is dictating and she added that I have to give 2 weeks notice if I am questioning her educational style. .
After this she said I am (and my husband too) very unfriendly and she would like to terminate my girl effective immediately. With this she caused us lots of trouble as I had physio appointment scheduled for the following days. What if I was full time working?! This is unacceptable.
She is a very unprofessional person and has no idea how to deal with 3 babies in the same time. I called her manager straight away, left voicemail, emailed her. It was over a week ago and haven't received any answer or explanation.
Never received any learning stories nothing at all.
We agreed to pay for at the end of the week Once it was Monday morning instead of Friday of course she complained straight away but when we accidentally transferred her more money she forgot to mention.
Very disappointed of Nestlings management and would never recommend this lady to any parents, I wish I had chosen their other educater in Farm cove.
