★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this afternoon and the same as Chris a few days ago, the welcome was appalling, we had to ask for a tasting, it was like these guys don't like walk-ins. The female staff member who dealt with us was unengaging and constantly averted eye contact with us. Where do they get the staff? My husband is a bit of a wine buff and loves a banter about what he's tasting, the flavours etc. and she was not interested and looked like she wanted just to see us gone. The owners really need to look at this and put people out front who are welcoming and know their wine stuff, she was hopeless. The wine is good but we will never drop in again or recommend doing a tasting there to our friends or colleagues. Like we just wonder is there a bad work ethic there, why are staff so grumpy??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had such a fantastic experience at Neudorf Vineyards. Knowledgeable, friendly cellar door staff. Great service and amazing wine!! The Riesling was so delicious that we purchased a few bottles on our way to Golden bay. It was definitely worth the detour!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stop as the Wines were superb, I don't generally like dry wines but these were soft with a very pleasant lingering affair taste and with food will drink extremely well. Another case couried home, may have to create a decent cellar rack system with the number of boxes sent home during this holiday trip.
The owner explaining the wines was the most interesting we've had as he really explained the soils, rocks etc. so that was very informative, than trying to explain all the subtle flavors in too much detail he gave a great explanation why the area's wines were different based on the growing ground and conditions, excellent and very informative stop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Only stopped in for a tasting but this is a beautiful location. Limited food available the day we were there. The staff were very knowledgeable about the wine and the fee for the tasting is donated to the Rescue Helicopter service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited Neudorf on Sunday just been and was very impressed. We enjoyed a delicious wine tasting (Ps. they donate tasting proceeds towards rescue helicopter!), the grounds are beautiful with nice seating options outside in the sunshine, the woman serving us was lovely, the jazz music playing was smooth, and the picnic shop corner is such a great idea! After wine tasting, enjoyed a glass of their dry Riesling and chose some beautiful local picnic items (Brie cheese, freshly baked and warmed ficelle mini baguette, local jar of beetroot plum relish, and some olive oil infused oat crackers, plus Kumar a crisps). Everything was very fairly priced and it was a beautiful way of spending the afternoon on our way back to Nelson. We’re thankful that Owen River Lodge’s host Felix recommended Neudorf to us.
