Absolute hidden gem! Such a tranquil and peaceful escape to a farm paradise after a hard week. We were safely transported in a 4 x 4 to the top of the mountain before the glorious reveal of our cottage which was surrounded by rolling hills, forests and a magnificent sea view. Perfect for kids and parents to unwind and appreciate the splendour of nature. We were in admiration of Scott's hard work to succefuly host guests while keeping a working farm! This has definately become our favourite weekend breakaway.

We stayed at the cottage for one night with the kids and we had the farm tour. This could not have been more fun for the entire family and it’s truely a great experience for the kids and me! Scott made us feel so welcome and showed us a lot about his eco friendly farm (nothing like Commercial farms you might have seen). Scott made our breakfast with fresh eggs from the farm and the honey from his farm is divine! We walked all the way into the water fall with Scott and coco the farm dog, it was a nice walk and our 4yo certainly had lot of fun stepping into muddy puddles. There are three house dogs at the farm, they are so friendly and the kids loved playing with them . After we left, our kids kept saying how much they miss Coco, Shalby and Milo. It was one of our best family getaway and we will definitely go back!

When you look for a weekend holiday with family, some criteria that you may have in mind are- Location, travel, food, hosts and quality of time. This place scores excellent in all of them. Easily, one of the best personal experiences that I have had. From the start of planning to the farewell, Scott(Host) made sure that we are well informed and stayed in touch. When we reached the place, Scott was right there waiting for us and was always a step ahead of us wrt each thing - settling in, dinner, morning breakfast and activities. He spent some real quality time welcoming us in and making sure that he understands what our personal expectations from the trip is. Thus, he organised a brilliant weekend for us. His whole family(including the pets) made us feel part of the family and there was no request of ours that was ignored. During activities Scott made sure that he is leading along with my 8 year old girl and that just made her day! He made her feel that she was part of the farm and she was absolutely stoked! The farm is very safe and entertaining for kids (don't get me started about Coco) and loads of things to do for adults. Overall - we have just found our new favourite hangout - not too far from city and yet, far enough for us to spend time with family. Looking forward to visiting them again soon! Thanks Scott, Spencer, Coco and all, for some wonderful memories.

My Favourite place to get away! 10/10 experience! Great service, Great adventures, great place to explore. But the biggest highlight was meeting Scot, he's amazing!!! Great all in service, willing to go the extra mile! Great chats! Wonderful drive on his old school Land rover up a rugged path to the accommodation! Great fun! I rode up the roof which was great fun! There is a beautiful river walking distance away and so each morning my family and I would wake up to such a beautiful view, and would go down to the river to brush our teeth! Very peaceful and is an incredibly beautiful clear, river. Wherever you go your surrounded by the vastness of trees, its beautiful and wonderful place to stay! There are some great walks and a really cool waterfall 30min walking distance away. I satyed at the Schack well hut.. The accomodation was very clean, provided with Nice clean bedding, and towels. Very basic way of living no electricity so its a fun time of being wild. There is a stove to cook food on, a tap with clean water, kitchen items provided and there is an outdoor bathtub that outlooks a beautiful, stunning view! If in need of electricity Scott is always willing to take you up to the top house to have a cuppa and charge your phone! In blackberry season there are so many black berries around to pick! And a bee hive, fresh Manuka honey upon purchase, very cheap $30 for a kg pottle! Bests tasting honey ever!!! Very helpful service! Very great experience!!!

Our host Scott greeted us on arrival at the gate and was very warm and welcoming from the beginning. The road up to the property is steep and luckily I was driving an AWD so it wasn’t an issue for us. It was actually a bit of fun. On our first night Scott and his son prepared some very nice pizzas for us and followed that with breakfast the next day before we went out. Photos of the property don’t do it justice, it is in a stunningly remote area, off the grid and with no neighbours or nearby lights in sight the night sky on a clear night is incredible. We had a storm our last night but the sunrises and sunsets from the property’s deck are incredible. On our second day we spent the morning doing a farm tour of the property and ended up at a small swimming hole at the nearby creek. Our two girls, 5 and 2 loved the creek but were a bit timid at first. Could’ve stayed soaking in the pools for hours but we had booked a tour in Coromandel Town for the afternoon. I would definitely return to the property, totally lived up to our expectations. Perhaps in Autumn or winter and have a fire out on the deck at night. Thanks again Scott! Hopefully see you again sometime in the future.

I booked this place through Agoda. And kids were excited. After taking 2 hours roaming in gravel and scary roads, we finally reached the property only to find out that the property doesn’t operate anymore. Had paid a big amount and no booking. When we tried to call them they didn’t pick up the call. It was so disappointing. Please don’t ever go there. And also don’t ever book through Agoda. Now I have to fight to get my money back. I would give zero stars

It was a great experience of getting away from the city and re-connecting with nature. It`s really nice, cozy and relaxing atmosphere here. Scott is very cheerful and attentive host. Animals are so lovely and were a great companions for us during our stay! The view was really great! Special thanks from the kids for trampoline, they had so much fun. Highly recommended!
