About Dickson Holiday Park

Dickson Holiday Park

Dickson Park is set beside a stream, surrounded by native bush and the old Tararu gardens, planted late last century by the settlers looking to beautify this thriving gold town. It is also the site of the remains of the Brown and Campbel gold processing stamper battery. The Gold is mostly gone, or best left in the ground to preserve the scenic wealth of this beautiful area, but the history remains and is a part of life on the Coromandel Peninsula.

We were visiting family only to be told visitors pay $10 per person per day. That is fine if we had known. It is on there phamplet in cabin, but I can’t see anywhere on the web site where it says it. People pay enough to stay there so why can’t you just pop in to visit, wasn’t a 24 hr pass either only until 9pm that night, Found owners rude

A gorgeous little camp set in the trees beside a stream. Facilities were great. Only thing was we were threatened by the campowner shooting our cat if he saw him. We won't be going back here because of this alone. The place is up for sale though.

Really enjoyed my time staying in the park. The bird wldlife was fantastic. I stayed because I had my fur baby companion however the dog was only allowed on my site and no-where else. Going for walks necessitated driving the dog off site. Carika, the site manager, was awesome. It was great to see her out and about in the park, bright and friendly, checking how the campers were going.

Another awesome stay at Dickson's Holiday Park 27/12 to 03/01 - Neil, Cindy and Steve are always accommodating and go out of their way to make our stay totally enjoyable. I feel for them having to deal with unruly, feral, intimidating people that turn up to create havoc, you guys rocked at dealing with the losers and when the police trespassed them the relief was felt throughout the camp!! We have booked more stays with you as we always do ? Thankyou for allowing us to enjoy your slice of paradise - highly recommend staying at Dickson's Holiday Park

Spent a lovely quiet night here in one of the little cabins, which had everything you'd want to make some simple food, and there's the kitchen block with ovens for more elaborate meals. Friendly and helpful manager, swimming pool, tennis court and kid's playground. Only slight drawback was a time limit on internet usage but it was long enough for me

Absolutely amazingly well kept authentically kiwi traditional Holiday Camp enjoyed by my family over the years. Caravan and non-powered tent sites were clean and inviting. A popular venue that is full over the Christmas and New Years period. Steve is an amazing site manager who is friendly and informative. Cindy in the office is an absolute gem to deal with bookings and is easy to communicate with. Happy New Year Camp crew, I'll be seeing you all soon. Appreciate your hard work team.

The grounds and scenery are amazing and so was the service. It’s quite old but that doesn’t take away from the experience. We stayed in one of the private cabins and they were very clean and the beds incredibly comfortable. Wifi was good as the service is a little lacking. Good entertainment for the kids bad sadly the pool was cold as it’s solar heated. Still a top notch place for the price. Would definitely stay there again. Thank you so much to the owners and staff. Oh, and they even let us store our stuff until check in as we got there at 10.

Great location to explore Thames. Beautifully set campground, quite and lovely grounds. Toilet and showers retro but spotless clean. We did the DOC walk next to the park entrance great views, well sign posted definitely need proper shoes for it. The owner’s were very welcoming.
