The process of Windscreen Repair was invented in the early 1970s by retired aircraft engineering company owner Dr. Frank Werner in conjunction with chemical engineer Bill Wiele. Born solely out of Frank’s passion for inventing and the need to stop replacing his windscreen when it developed a small crack, Frank founded Origin Incorporated, a testing laboratory and commercial research facility in Wyoming, USA.
In 1972 Dr Werner partnered with Gerald Keinath and bought the patent rights for windscreen repair. Strategically they designed the business plan that would bring the windscreen repair technique to the general public for the first time.
Their company was named Keinath Incorporated and it was run from Gerald’s basement. Soon after they changed the business name to NOVUS (Latin for New or Innovative) and shortly after the Novus legend was born.
In 1978 Denis and Patricia James introduced the Novus repair technique to New Zealand. In 1991, Novus introduced their first New Zealand franchise, and since then the company has grown to a national network in excess of 50 locations throughout the country. The New Zealand master license for Novus is still owned and operated by the James family.
Novus is a franchised network which means that each location is owned and operated by a local in your community, so you can rest assured of complete integrity on every job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Novus done a great job replacing my broken windshield on my Subaru.
They went out the way to find me the correct windshield that has the heating element along the bottom and has a extra wide tint strip along the top so that was excellent.
They also used a brand new molding for the install which I was very happy about.
Friendly and helpful service which had extensive knowledge about doing the job correctly to a high standard as requested by me and all within a short time so I could get my WOF.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poor service .Yes l arrived just before closing time for LPG fill up. Young guy filled it up and just left by the side of my camper. Yes, l can place and attach, however, business is tough and trust me a little service goes along way with me - l would not return there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Put in the wrong screen which caused a number of issues. Novus denied any wrongdoing. Major time spent and hassles trying to sort. Insurance company brought in an assessor who verified the issues. Poor workmanship and completely unprofessional. Avoid these guys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I own a brand new car and had to wait 4 weeks for it to be ordered and fitted.
The Toyota dealer I spoke to said it would only take 2 days for one to arrive and that there was 10 in the country, service from Novus was dissapointing....On picking up my car there were black marks on my car and blood on the driver's door.Inside there was shards of fine glass over dash board ,steering wheel ,leather seats and on the floor and a piece embedded in my dash speaker.The woman implied that my car could do with a wash... I answered it hadn't been done because of the broken window ,go figure ?Extremely disappointed in their house keeping and their mannerism....I will certainly not be entertaining using them again and will be warning others of the service I recieved.Who ever installed the window thou did a good job.

They refused to give an indication as to how long it would take to receive the glass they ordered because they knew it would take a month! I called a week after requesting for the service to get an eta just to get a rude rep on the phone saying that there''s no way to know although all the real reviews here mention 3+ weeks. all the other real reviews here say the same. the 6* reviews are bought for sure.
