Jonah Huang, Head Chef
Born in Taiwan, Jonah emigrated to New Zealand as a 10-year-old and found his passion when he started working in kitchens at age 17.
Jonah comes to Odettes after stints at well-known Auckland establishments such as Iguacu, Everybody’s and Imperial Lane, and after a period overseas honing his craft in Japan.
At Odettes Eatery Jonah applies modern techniques to classic dishes, with flavour reigning supreme. He knows how to maximise the best of each ingredient, blend seasonal harvests with creativity and use local suppliers’ best produce.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We finally managed to visit this iconic place. It is pricey as hell, but we kind of understood why. The ? Benedict were special, the ☕️ was of a hight quality, and the cake was so fresh.
But the service practice is atypical to Auckland: we were given an invoive without us asking for it, and then in a minute or two the waiter came with the card machine. The use of the card comes with a fee. Yes, we understand that there are people in the queue, but it was not pleasant.

Coffee is so good.
The atmosphere is so relaxing even it is located in the center.
Food is fantastic except for my side as Broccolini was too burned. Surprisingly, the waitresses saw it and they didn't say anything.
My dessert is amazing and I love it!
Will definitely go back but will be fussier!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for breakfast, best place to start your day! Highly recommended - excellent service. Fresh foods - I don’t normally eat fruit tomatoes but I finish all my plates because it was so fresh!! Plenty of parking and be early otherwise you’ll queue up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was my first time eating at Odette's and I was super impressed.
The food was amaxing with wonderful flavours, chips with crispy curry leaves, yes please! Also the pea and spinach fritters were great, even roast carrot side was yummy.
We sat outside which was great during covid times but the decor in the restaurant is beautiful.
Big recomendation from me and I will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Okay folks who wants an excellent Boujee brunch locations. Our experience starts stkight wait but expected on a Sunday holiday weekend. We order coffees all around (flat white, latter and mocha) and one apple juice. We then order from a very attentive wait staff and converse about our day. Food arrived, (pics below) fresh and hot and is very well presented and tasty. What a terrific find in Auckland. Thank you staff and cooks at Odettes we will be back. And hey Auckland don't think twice go you won't be disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place was busy with almost no tables available so it is better to go early or make a booking on weekends to find a good fresh spot.
The food was nice with a twist of flavors and textures.
The only thing is that do to the demand tables don't have enough distance between them so it gets a little bit crowded being next to each other and with all this COVID stuff is a little bit uncomfortable.

If forced to mention the problems with this restaurant, it is a little bit inaccessible from CBD central, crowded and slow to serve food.
However, I recommended it is worth a visit to Odettes Eatery. Allow plenty of time and enjoy your time in this restaurant.
