On Yer Bike Winery Tours | The first Winery tour in Hawke's Bay - Onyerbikehb.co.nz
Start your winery bike tour at our base – which is right next to Ash Ridge Winery – from where it is only 10 to 15 minutes by bike to the next winery. The wineries are well spaced from there on, for the perfect balance between exercise and wine tasting. If you select a 10am or 11am start you have the choice of routes, if you select a 12pm start you will be on the Gimblett Gravels route.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I thought on yer bike tours were great but I do have a bad review for the shuttle service they recommend The Village Shuttle you need to learn about customer service the driver Bryan I found rude, unfriendly and drove way too fast with a full van load of people. I wouldn’t recommend using The Village Shuttles at all

Great food, great wine
Bikes were sturdy and comfortable with a handy basket. Made good use of the wine collection service as we didn’t have to carry our wine on the bikes. Everything was ready for us back at the base when we got back.
Track was flat and easy
Union Wineries was a particularly good stop as owners were exceptionally helpful and ready to talk about wine to us and our young adults.
Very very enjoyable
Great service - would definitely recommend this

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The guys at On Yer bike were a great help in arranging or cycle ride around the vines for myself and my friends. They followed us around and picked up our purchases and had them ready to load into our car when we got back. Phil was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. He also put on a great tasting at Ashridge Wines where ONYB is based. Watch out for the Syrahs and Malbecs cracking wines

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The people running the show were extremely rude and completely ruined the morning. It has left me with a very sour taste in my mouth and I will not be hiring bikes off them again if it can be helped. We were not treated with the respect and courtesy which you would have expected at the least given that we were paying over $1,000 NZD and just generally were customers. The groups before and after us suffered the same problem. We were very nervous around Phil who was serving us and he was extremely judgemental and made many assumptions about the group that we were treating it as a “pub crawl”. They didn’t want to give us an e bike on this basis despite the team member requiring it having a BROKEN FOOT!!! Enough said.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A big group of us hired bikes from here and we were greeted by a very grumpy receptionist called Phil who felt like he didn’t want us there even though we had paid over NZ$1000 for bikes. We had to manage his mood and remain very calm and polite with someone who was meant to be serving us even though we were the paying customers.
Hiring bikes and doing this wine tour is definitely a great thing to do for a day but I would suggest seeing if there is somewhere else to hire bikes as it is not nice starting the day like this.
