★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful little reserve with a Kiwi Guardians adventure for the kids too.
Has a fun wind turbine at the top.
The name Otepatotu means something to do with fairies/goblins and this 1hr loop track really feels like a Goblin forest.
If you have kids be sure to check out the kiwi Guardians adventures online so the kids can get a medal in the post!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The “goblin forest” did not disappoint, in my opinion better than the view from the top. I have never seen so much dripping lichen in my life. Could definitely have been a location from Lord of the Rings. The walk itself was easy and very short, with just a mild uphill climb the whole way. Would recommend doing the loop clockwise as the slope is easier that way.

With views of Akaroa Harbor on one side and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean on the other side.
The track has a 'goblin forest' – trees hung with weeping moss.
