β β β β β A little off the beaten track but soooo worth it. One of our favorite stops on our 2013 honeymoon.

β β β β β Superb B&B. Great hosts who treated us to afternoon tea and great breakfasts. If you are lucky you can get accompanied to the local waterfall by some of their dogs.

β β β β β Absolutely amazing place! We stayed at the Shepherd's hut. A little piece of paradise tucked away from it all! Cannot rave about this place enough. Super cool! Make sure you stay 2 nights at least so you can fully enjoy the exclusion and also everything Akaroa has to offer!

β β β β β A wonderful B&B in a beautiful historic homestead and surrounded by a lovely garden. Katherine and Hugh were great hosts. This place is a little out of Akaroa - but that was one of its attractions. We wish we could have stayed longer.

β β β β β I spent a month enjoying the amazing beauty and people of New Zealand. From Auckland to Milford Sound, I stayed at dozens of places. My time at Coombe Farm was the best of my trip!!! Coombe Farm is a family-owned working sheep and cow farm. I learned so much about Akaroa, its history and local news through the hosts, Kathryn and Hugh. They are warm and generous hosts. If you stay in the farm house, you get to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The views from the farm and the walks in the area are well worth the visit if you are in the Christchurch area. Akaroa has very unique volcanic features where land meets sea in amazing ways. I definitely recommend a stay at Coombe Farm.

β β β β β We stayed in the Shepherds Hut for one night and I can honestly say it's one of the BEST eco-stay experiences we've had in NZ. The balance of rustic yet romantic is spot on. So many thoughtful touches like the soap bars, fresh fruit and produce and robes really add to the experience. The outdoor bath just tops it off! Our only regret is not staying for longer, we will 100% be back to stay!!
