Originally the idea of Paddock was to provide fresh, tasty gourmet take out. So essentially our focus was on cooking with the best of produce for you to grab on the run. Because of our location & our surrounding district, and the theory behind what we are all about, it only seemed fitting to embrace the name Paddock. So there it was, a name, a connection, a philosophy.
Sure our building was old, tired & lacked any vibe at all, but we couldn't resist the vision we had & the challenge ahead, to bring into Cambridge & add to the towns charm.
Pretty soon after opening we realised that Cambridge was embracing this small space and our idea of making delicious coffee and serving great food within a vibrant but chilled atmosphere was flourishing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very popular but at that time of morning we could not find many places open in Cambridge ,nz. Coffee nice and hot , meals good living up to rustic.only complaint I had was my lemon was not cut properly ( maybe meant to be like that for rustic) and when I squeezed on my food I got pips on it plus thought it could of done with more cream cheese on the salmon bagel as well but still tasty.

Inside seating isn't much, but the vibe is on the super-wide side walk.
Again, really good food!

We had the Big Breakfast, 2 English Breakfast Teas & Orange Juices everything was so tasty with excellent sized portions and very good value for money! So consistent with their meals & service, cannot rate them high enough!! Have been multiple times now, Paddock has become our favorite spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty good beef burgers which my daughter and I both had, my partner had the sausage roll with salad which was ok, he enjoyed it. Staff were friendly enough and good service. Would have been good if there were menus we could look at by our table so could choose something there rather then trying to choose something off the board while in the queue to place the order. Also if you want water you can serve yourself from the little tap inside, but especially in the heat, no one wants to drink room temperature/warm tasting water. So cold bottles of water for the tables would be good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a lovely breakfast, I took the different but equally enjoyable eggs Benedict with pork belly. The smoothies were good and well presented. The outdoor seating was a real plus and made the place. The coffee was just average and the difference between a four and five star. Three breakfasts, three coffees and a smoothie $98, so up there.
