β β β β β Late night visit after all day driving. Owner hospitality was great eventhough the restaurant was closed already (21 persons of us at that time).
Simple food (he cooked fried rice and wontoon noodle soup) but delicious.

β β β β β This place is fantastic. We were travelling late from Hokitika on a weekday and we were hungry. My wife called around and the proprietor of Papillon was incredibly nice and kept the place open so we could get some food. We were very grateful.

β β β β β we bought from the Papillon takeaways down the side. The absolute worst steak satay I've ever had. It tasted very strongly of yellow curry without a hint of peanuts. The chicken chow mein was ok. Very disappointing. $14 per large dish, big sizes. If you have to eat here, stick to the usual Chinese fare.
