★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So decided to try a garlic prawn pie today, thou the favour was great. It was full of sauce and there was 2 and a half small prawns in the whole thing. If the idea is was to have prawns in it, it was sadly lacking. If the ideas was too have a garlic sauce with a hint of prawn favour then it meet the brief.

The caramel and ginger slice were far too sweet and bases very crumbly, I couldn't see any breads or anything though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5 star pies, bought a couple, probably the best I've ever had! Unfortunately though, the customer service on the day was worth 1 star. Not a single word from the staff behind the counter from start to finish. It was super busy, with a queue out the door onto the footpath, so I get it was a hectic time, but a simple hello and thank you would have been nice for this first time out of towner?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well it’s a certificated pie store, I bought steak & vegetable pie + Mince & Cheese pie. I like the mince & cheese pie, but was disappointed with the steak pie, just a little meet, all gravy. $5/each, not bad price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There's a lot to expect from a Bakery that has many awards but in fairness I had to judge their pies based on their style and their strengths. Don't go looking for the steak and cheese and mince and cheese here, find these in Auckland hehe, their great pies start off with the Pork Belly pies, Creamy mushroom and bacon and cheese Pie (my favorite here). Also their sausage roll is ? top in NZ in terms of classic nz pastry and taste. Definitely puts Bethlehem on the map! Will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There’s a reason why they’re almost up there in d pie hall of famers … they defo set the bar up high when it comes to pies coz it’s really serious business… and seriously good too. Tried their Steak and Mushroom and it was very filling. Not to mention, the pastry - so buttery and flaky. ?

Before you get in you see banners hanging across the giant panes of windows. Take a step inside and you see a huge collection of awards; you can tell this dude Patrick is the real deal.
Wasn't too busy but the staff was somewhat friendly? No small talk or anything not even a hello just the transaction and a thank you.
I tried their supreme awarded sausage rolls and their chicken wings. The chicken was a bit of a greesy mess and it didn't have a lot of flavour. I ended up just caking it in tomato sauce. Wouldn't recommend the fried foods.
The sausage roll was good. The pastry is what I think won it the award. Very nice, wouldn't drive all the way from Hamilton to try it but it's definitely worth a visit when you're by the Tauranga.
