★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Husband brought me a voucher for my birthday in 2020, during that time I was pregnant and had my baby early and in neonatal unit for over 3months, then covid restrictions happened, and life was busy with a new born. The voucher had no expiry date on it whatsoever....phone up to make a booking for me and my oldest daughter, and they say it expired, explained no expiry and our life circumstances during that period and got told they won't honor it.
Disappointing!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had our daughter 12 birthday, first high tea with family. It was fantastic, from the choice of delicious food and drinks to the Gorgous birthday cake. We were treated like royalty. The service was amazing, friendly, informative and attentive. We will definitely be back and highly recommend

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I finally made it to this cafe after hearing wonderful things for so long. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was incredible, the food was wonderful and the prices were incredibly reasonable.
I have been looking for a simple plain scone with cream and jam for a long time and this place had it and it was perfect. Cannot wait to take others here for high tea.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I had the high tea here and it was incredible! We did the lunch themed one. Every single thing on the tower was delicious and the tea was so good! Highly recommend! One of the best high teas I’ve ever had.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Penny Blacks did not disappoint. I would highly recommend their traditional afternoon tea. Lovely selection of savoury and sweet delights. The food was really fresh and very tasty. Although we didn't have the food available in the cabinet that also looked delicious. Good selection of tea and coffee.
The service was exceptional, staff very attentive and friendly especially the lady that served us…(I can’t remember her name but she was from Manchester) lovely and chatty!
The tea room is in a lovely shopping arcade with lovely shops.
All covid rules followed by the staff.
Will be sure to return when I’m next visiting Christchurch.
