★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely bakery with adjoining coffee shop and gelateria. Excellent pies and coffee. Only 4 stars because we had to buy the food from the bakery and take it around to the coffee shop to eat, otherwise I would have given them 5 stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was in a hurry and needed a bite. Stopped outside in free parking and dashed inside. I have a weakness for sausage rolls. A kiwi icon!
My view is that it was excellent. Just the right mix of meat and vegies, yes even peas. Pastry was perfectly flakey.
The rest of the cabinets were full of excellent pastries and sweets.
Well worth the stop. 10/10 for the sausage roll!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far our favourite Cafe in New Plymouth. The food is always top quality , with excellent gourmet options to meet everyone's taste and the Bakery staff are so welcoming and friendly. The gentleman who served me today even ran our coffees out to my car as it was raining and he could see I had my kids with me. Can't praise this place enough. Always my first recommendation to anyone visiting our beautiful region ❤

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recently improved service and revamped seating at Piccolo cafe. Nice to have both inside and outside seating options. Take a keep cup as they only do takeaway cups and it reduces the cost slightly too as their coffee prices are on the steep side. If you're wanting food you'll have to pop around the corner to their bakery and grab something which you can eat at the cafe (which to be honest helps me save a few dollars compared to when they had baking at the cafe counter as I'm lazy and just get a coffee now ... but their pies and pastries are great!)
