Amazing beach hidden away from busy Auckland City. Best part of the beach is the cave leading to a secret area of the beach.

Beauty ful little Beach. Clear water and a neat little cave by the entrance. Walk in and out is a little tough going if you have knee/hip problems. Take a good pair of shoes or your sturdieat jandals

This place got busier over the past year due to social media. It’s a quite a small beach with some shades near the rocks! Can be dangerous to swim and don’t enter the cave if the water is super rough (which happened during my visit and there was a rescue mission) ! Be cautious and best to come when waves are calm ! The road to the car park is all rocks ? 15-20min hike from car park , fairly easy to walk. Lots of people hike in sandals but recommend shoes.

About 4 km of gravel road leads to the parking spot. The gravel is pretty thick so a vehicle with a higher ground clearance is required. The hike takes about 25 mins down and 30 to 35 minutes up at decent pace. It is quite steep on the way up so decent fitness is required. The beach is truly a hidden gem in every sense of the word. There is a beautiful cove which can be accessed when the tide receeds. Someone has put upba nice small swing on a rope on the beach.

Hidden gem absolutely worth the hike down & back up again. Careful if you’re not in a 4WD as gravel road access would be difficult if your car isn’t suitable for those types of roads.

Gorgeous secluded beach, with high waves that are perfect for jumping. A 15-20 minute walk on a well worn path to get down to the beach. Long stone gravel road for 3.4kms to get to the beaches car park.

Beautiful little beach. Amazing scenery. There is a small cove, which I thought was pretty cool. However, the drive was rough. Had to drive 7km on a gravel road. Make sure you have good set of tires and a vehicle that is suitable for gravel roads. We walked down a path through the forest. Hike up was challenging but manageable for most people. Make sure you wear shoes though. The path is uneven and had lots of massive roots and fallen trees. To get there, we took the Pokohino Rd, not the Norman Access Rd suggested by Google. You will find signage on the side of the Onemana Rd. Take that road all the way to the car park.
