About Poppies Kindergarten
Packing a lunch box for your child in the morning can be a challenge. We hear children talk every day about their food preferences and assertions “I don’t like that!” Children can be very particular about what they will and won’t eat and sometimes parents worry that their child will not have enough to eat during the day. The eating habits that children develop today will influence the diet that they will have as adults. Also, the food that children eat today influences how they behave and cope with their day. There is a growing range of information about what is best for children to eat but this can be overwhelming and difficult to sift through when you just want to pack your child’s lunch box and get out the door.
So we have come up with some brief ideas and information that we hope may help with the lunch box battle and which will help you to provide a healthy lunch box for your child when they come to Poppies.

β β β β β Our son is about to turn 5 and head to 'big school'. Saying he is prepared, is an understatement! Poppies Kindergarten was the perfect foundation for him. The staff are phenomenal. They care deeply about the children and there are always lots of fun photos being shared with parents so they can see exactly what their children have been up to. The learning environment is exciting, filled with happy children, fun activities, a great playground, and an amazing indoor recreational space for yoga, tumbling, performances and more! There is always something going on to keep little minds learning and the themed school holiday days are always a real treat. The 'Transition to School' classes have equipped our son with all the tools he needs to succeed in Primary School. He is confident in his writing, numbers and letters are a breeze and he's even started to read! Most importantly, he's confident in himself and can work competently in a team or on his own. We cannot recommend Poppies enough and we will miss all the wonderful families.

β β β β β Our son Liam attended Poppies and our daughter Amelia is currently loving her time there. Liam who is now at school was asked where we should send Amelia. Liam attended two local daycares. He said Amelia should go to βPOPPIESβ!! He right, Amelia loves Poppies so much. The staff are so caring and understanding of what makes our little girl tick.
Amelia is so enthusiastic about her days at Poppies. She wakes up most Saturdays disappointed that it is not a Poppies day :) Who could blame her, they make playdoh, start painting at 8.30 and just have a what I would describe as a good old fashioned daycare experience with a few modern tweaks.
Thank you to the Poppies team for providing our family and others such an amazing environment for our kids.

β β β β β From the bottom of my heart, as a mother of two young children I highly recommend Poppies Kindergarten. Our Son and Daughter both attend Poppies and it has been the most nurturing environment for them. The teachers are loving and they genuinely care for the children, this feeling of warmth when you say goodbye to your children in the morning - as a mother you cant ask for more. The transition to school program is wonderful, the children learn something different every week - our son thrives on these classes and have provided him with great foundations as he starts school soon. Rhiannon and the teachers, Lauren, Rachel, Kitty, Anna and Nicole have been like a second family to us as we live in Auckland without our own family close by. Highly recommend Poppies Kindergarten, really is like a second home for your children :)

β β β β β Our two year old son has been at Poppies for six months and is absolutely loving it, as are we. I feel this operation gets the balance right between being well-run and managed diligently, but also having a strong focus on the caring and personal touch that one looks for with their young children. Whoever does the pick up/ drop off each day is always greeted enthusiastically by name, and the caring staff provide plenty of good feedback and ideas with regards to our son and his development. I recommend this institution without hesitation.

Poppies is a wonderful kindergarten with amazing teachers, great facilities and a lovely community feel. Thanks so much to Rhiannon, Lauren and the rest of the teaching staff, we will miss you!

β β β β β Amazing Kindergarten! From the very first experience at Poppies I felt a sense of belonging and knew it was the right place for our son to spend his early learning years. Rhiannon and her team of highly skilled teachers provide the most nurturing and enriched environment for children. It was a real joy to watch our son grow from strength to strength throughout his time at Poppies and know he will transition beautifully into his school years from the grounding experience and learnings he received at Poppies.
