★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Depending on your interests, this little museum may be well worth some time. It is very central and next to the library and research centre. It has plenty of Maori art, some native wildlife and geology information. Plus much more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic space to learn more about this awesome town and it's people both Māori and Non-Māori. Informative, interactive, eye-catching and polished including the people who greet you at the door. Can't finish my comment without highlighting that this is all available free to anyone and everyone!!!! Way to go New Plymouth.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a great time to spend an hour with the kids, new displays this year are fun and guest space currently around maps provides some different experiences. Rated 5 stars because continues to be free as museums in other towns have introduced entry fees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful museum dedicated to the Maori people and early European settlers. Everything was displayed, organized and comprehensible. They even had short clips where a group was explaining certain traditions of the Maori. I enjoyed immensely.
