★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are an elderly couple who have stayed at this camping ground with our caravan and little dogs.
We have LOVED being here! It is very reasonably priced. The views are second to none. The Beach is amazing and our little dogs love it. The facilities are perfectly adequate and lend a certain charm to how things used to be.
The sound of the waves is wonderful.
We can't wait for our next visit to this charming camp.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really wanted to like this camp ground, but the more I looked around the more I just wanted to leave. The only plus side was the amazing view over the beach. the down sides. the place was messy and cluttered and dirty. it was run down and disorganized. The lounge was dated and had the showers randomly hacked into the corner. I was super put off by the security cameras everywhere including the one pointing directly at the showers. when I asked the owner who I talk to about signing in he told me to "Talk to myself" and then walked off. the final straw for me was the only other campers I saw at the camp ground looked like they had just been released from jail and probably had a few drug issues. I wouldn't be in a hurry to ever stay here again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed for a couple of nights last year and enjoyed the quirkiness of the camp. Like stepping back in time. Stayed another night this year and enjoyed it again. Lovely beach for swimming/boogie boarding.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately we didn't actually go to this park but to the neighbour's property for tea. What a serene area this is, the Weka are wandering around the place like cats in the city. Tui in the trees and so many beautiful Piwakawaka, such a graceful wee bird. Sunset to die for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love it. If you are looking for 5 star service then you shouldnt be camping. If you are looking for the same old, same old then go to the top ten. If you are looking for a spot about 5m from a beautiful beach, quirky old schoolhouse facilities, a swimming pool, fairly lights or a small awesome campsite then come here. My only regret is there wasnt enough time for us to be here longer.
Be aware it get full quick, especially the beach powered spots. Werent too many sandflies when we went. Jan 2022. We had a campervan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awful and run down. Don’t take your family.
Online the photos looked okay, turned up and we were very disappointed.
The kitchen was run down and had lots of broken parts including only one of the stoves/ovens partially working and the rest of them looked like a major health and safety hazard.
The area around the office (which no one seemed to worked at) was surrounded by rubbish and junk, no one to check in or out with. There were no lights or facilities to dry hands in the bathrooms.
The showers were awful and in the lounge area which was weird enough without a camera facing towards them as well.
Not only were the facilities run down but there were many people living there who were loud, constantly swearing, drinking, potential drug use and domestic abuse was going on. With all this going on we felt very unsafe and us as well as most of the other people staying there left the next day because of the same reasons. After finally getting through to the off site camp manager he didn’t understand what the issue was and said we still had to pay for our one night so we did then left along with most of the other camp guests.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful spot. The facilities are fairly clean. However, it is very much a "you do you" campsite. Most sites are taken by residents who live here full time, and they pretty much run the show. While most are quiet and lovely, we experienced an agressive and sleepless new years. Some partying is to be expected, but the managers outright refused to deal with loud and violent behaviour from some residents and their friends. In addition, while they do have all the amenities, they are sparse. One of the 3 stove units works, some sinks don't work, etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty quirky!! A stunning location right on the beach. A few wackadoodle things like showers in the corner of the dining room but a surprisingly good pool. We found the owner Peter to be very welcoming and friendly as were a few of the long termers we chatted with. Booked one night, stayed 2!! Has everything you need in a campground. Anything but generic ?
