โ โ โ โ โ Super cold sleeping in a tent at this time of year.. but we did it. The place was quiet at night, affordable and super close to amazing walks.

โ โ โ โ โ I have traveled from Cape Reinga to the Bluff and this would be the worst accommodation I have stayed in. Freezing cold cabins with massive gaps around doors, told to park family members camper in pooled feild, heater only wiriks for an hour, too many problems to mention. No refunds either. This had nothing to do with weather but cold drafty uninsulated accomodation.See what my lawyer say ???

โ โ โ โ โ We unfortunately arrived late so couldn't explore much of the facilities and the area but we really love the place.
Clean bedding and cozy room, bathroom and kitchen facilities are also great.

โ โ โ โ โ Clean, tidy, affordable, fabulous for kids. Modern bathroom facilities. So close to forest walk with the carved animals and a short drive to the township. Kids loved the playground

โ โ โ โ โ Just spent 2 nights with my wife there. Our prebooked room had been given to someone else. The reallocated room for us had not been cleaned at all. Old clothing under bed pens bottle tops and dust everywhere. The mattress protectors on the beds were very dirty. I mean filthy..
And too make matters worse after sitting on the bed for 2 minutes I had 2 fleas running up my arm. I must say the Male attendant at the office was very nice and helpful. Please up your standard of cleaning room and provide clean bed coverings...that was a real eye opener

โ โ โ โ โ We spent three nights at Hanmer Spring Forest. This place is surrounded by forest. Our cabin was reasonable small for the price we paid. You can also choose to pitch your tent out in the field. This place was economical for us as a couple. In our cabin there was a double bed with one power socket. It would have been great if there was a mosquito screen to prevent sandflies coming in. We could have enjoyed the cool breeze during day and night periods. We were allowed to use a small kitchen for cooking. The kitchen was very clean and had all cooking utensils. There was two sinks with hot water and a fridge to store your food and drinks. You have to label what is yours. The toilets and bathing facilities are shared with others. The toilets was clean and toilet papers were provided. The bathroom is also shared with other campers. The water was hot enough for showers. There is also a movie room with lots and of DVDs. We watched two movies while we were there. Oh, in the kitchen there is a microwave for make your popcorn. There is plenty of walks around the camp. If you like to climb Isobel, the turn off is just before Hanmer Spring Forest Camp. There is also three playgrounds. When we were there there was a big school camp. There is a hall for group activities and a ability area for special function. We were greet by the lady at the reception. We had to produce our vaccine pass. Our check-in was very easy and took maybe less than 5 minutes. We wish there was some tables under the tree shade.. There was one but it was for smokers. The camp is like 7 minutes away from the centre of town. Very easy to get in and from town. Between the two and Hanmer Springs Forest Camp there are forest walks. It all walking distance ... You will definitely enjoy your stay at Hanmer Springs Forest Camp. With affordable and safe place for your families, it is definitely worth the money. Some of you may feel the cabins are small, which it is. We enjoyed our stay. We hope you do too.

โ โ โ โ โ Good! Rooms are fairly priced and Iโm grateful there are basic cabin options in Hamner Springs. Itโs a 5 minute drive and possible to walk or bike however the path along the roadside and feels sketchy.
Good kitchen, enough for backpackers.
Room was too difficult to heat with the panel heater. Iโd suggest a fan heater or more powerful unit as it gets pretty chilly overnight.
Friendly staff who are happy to help.

โ โ โ โ โ Probably not the host's fault but my experience of stay was horrible. It is a family friendly place indeed but there were too many families with energetic young children staying in and the non-noise-insulated wall was not helpful.
Apart from that, great forestry environment.
