★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rented from Rent a Room for four months and had terrible experiences. They operate their company as a complete money grab and do not look out for the well being of their tenants and the community. Throughout my stay their was constant construction with no prior warning of it. Furthermore, the landlord would show up at the property with no prior warning and to top it off I had to chase them down six weeks after leaving just to get my bond back. The company is horribly mismanagened and is just focused on making as much money as possible without consideration. I do not recommend to anyone to rent from Rent a Room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting to see how many people had bad experiences with this service in the past and still nothing has changed. I agree it is a complete money grab and he does not look out for the well being of the tenants. He never answers to messages unless he needs something from you. There are "tenant services" but you can report faulty or broken things, illegal activities in the house, fill out complaints or requests, he would just ignore all of them. He would also show up at the property with no prior warning and people have to chase him to get their bond back. He also rents out houses or house parts illegally without warning the new tenants about the conditions of the house or letting know the old tenants that new people are arriving. I agree, he is just focused on making as much money as possible without consideration. He is also very rude and disrespectful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They will take your bond and never answer. So the best advice I can give is don't pay the last two weeks if you are alredy renting with them.
