★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very small regional airport. Well appointed. Machine coffee and vending machine drinks, plenty of seats and a few tables if you need to get some laptop work done while waiting for a plane.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Car park is too small so people have to park on yellow lines or the grass. I liked the mural on the window telling the names of the mountains. Rest rooms were clean and tidy. Plenty of chairs but some don't have backs. Simple bag retrieval on the way down and easy check in for the return flight.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a minor airport the terminal has received a much needed upgrade and is now a better experience for the public, and, I suspect, the employees. Comfortable seating, complimentary hot drinks, clean toilets - a much better experience. Now that we have lower airfares to the provinces this place will get more patronage.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Parking payment would not print receipt. Barrier arm would not lift to let dozens of cars out. No one would answer the help button. Thankfully some guys forced it or we would still be there in the pouring rain. Not good enough

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and tidy airport. Couldn't be easier to navigate since there is only one terminal and it's not much bigger than my modestly sized house. Long term parking is paid but it's only about $20 for a long weekend.

But seriously needs to have a back up to its de-icing machine. Canceling flights due to equipment failures is not a good look, especially when the next five is either a flights hours later, or a 2 hour drive to the next airport.
Lost faith into I booked again, which was then cancelled due to weather...... Seriously. I don't think Air NZ really wants to service Timaru TIU?!?
Could also do with some Koru Club features, or simply a coffee machine etc. Anything.
