My truck broke down between Greymouth & Westport on the 03.01.2019. I got towed to a property and was left on the driveway. I phoned AA with my situation and they assigned my recover and repair to Richards Motors. Shortly after, Richard the owner of the company phoned me, he aggressively enquired about the situation of the vehicle and was repeatedly demanding I tow it out to the road to enable ease of collection. I was completely shocked as I am a very polite person and did in no way provoke this behaviour. As I had no other vehicle to assist with the towing of my truck Richard was very angered when he arrived at the address. Swearing at me and yelling as to why I hadn't attempted to push the 2121kg truck myself.
My heavily pregnant partner was inside the property at the time of his arrival (thank god). He asked who was inside that could assist with the push to turn around the vehicle. I mistakenly mentioned my partner was indoors, he then demanded she come and assist despite the fact she was heavily pregnant. WOW I could not believe it, completely outrageous! When I denied this, he became enraged. I reminded him softly that this is his job, why be so unprofessional and foul about a simple truck recovery? He became even further enraged attacking me asking if I wanted his assistance or should he just F*** off. However we continued to load the truck on to his trailer in an unpleasant tense manor. He then gave me his card and told me it wouldn't even be looked at until 09.01.2019 as it was holiday season and he was already booked with existing vehicles.
Horrible man. Please take my advice RUN FROM THIS REPAIR AGENT!

β β β β β One of the worst garages i have ever had to deal with, the manager has a terrible attitude. My battery was faulty i brought a new one from them fitted it myself then when my motor home still wouldn't start a faulty starter motor also he wouldn't let his machanic help me a 79 year old get it going .I then had to ring Wings roadside and they convinced him to get a mechanic to come and help me start which took all of 5mns .What happened to being kind and Southern hospitality.

β β β β β Called in to get some guidance with our Mitz and the poor guy that was there was borderline hysterical, raised voice, manic look in his eye, felt really sorry for him, pretty concerned actually. Clearly very stressed and unable to keep his emotions in check.
Far to busy to even talk without raising his voice. I suggest talking your car elsewhere, poor guy clearly needs a break!
