β β β β β Now I know why this little bakery is takeaway! We tried their pinwheels, almond croissant and apple turnover. All of them are die for. We are fans of black coffee and it really had woken me ?. Second round of coffee was to get the feel of coffee we used to get in States! And yes If it was a dine in place poor oven would have definitely got exhausted. I wish I could give more stars but thatβs the maximum I could choose. A must to try while you are in Matakana!

β β β β β Have to be honest. I brought a sandwich and a danish. Both were dry, chewy and tasteless. Disappointed! :(

β β β β β Brough an almond croissant from the matakana markets and oh my gosh it was seriously the best one Iβve ever had! 10/10 amazing

β β β β β Not the cheapest bread but delicious nonetheless.
Get in early as the few times I have been in here the shelves run out quick and are occasionally restocked.
They intermittently have other pastries such as croissants and pain au chocolat which also seem to sell out quite quickly.

β β β β β Great bread and somewhere i try to stop when i can but .... Interesting service. Went along to pickup a loaf. Was hard to communicate due to the perspex screen and loud noise of traffic behind.
Sourdough was still awesome
*edit*
Thanks for the apology, know it was a busy day. Sure next time will be better :)

β β β β β Opens pretty early, staff is super cool. Good coffee but croissant was pretty sweet for a plain bakery.

β β β β β We stopped by Matakana for lunch before heading home. The markets weren't running so we had to forage elsewhere and found this place. It is on the main road. We grabbed a few items and walked down near the river to enjoy them.
The pizzas were interesting as they were more bready than pizzay. Almost like the focaccia with toppings. They were nicely flavoured and the pepperoni was slightly spicy. The quiches were nice. Soft eggy filling full of spinach and toppings. The bacon one had it baked through the quiche while the salmon one was only at the top. Both were nice with a filo base so it was crispy and flakey. I quite liked their danish and croissant. The lemon croissant was interesting with a lemon and vanilla custardy curd.
It was a nice place for food in lieu of the markets.

β β β β β First time in and YOU have to go! Itβs the cutest little spot with amazing food. Always wondered why the bakery had such a long cue outside it. The food is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.
