★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a really positive experience using Ritchies for the first time this week. Prompt email communication, responsive out of hours service, and the most delightful, helpful driver on the day of 5 November. Will use service again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is by far the worst service I have ever received please do not ever use Ritchie's. We booked a coach for my fathers 70ths to take 25 people out to Riverhead. 5 minutes before we were due to picked up the bus driver called saying that he couldn't get ahold of the depot and his bus couldn't start. No other option no help offered. I get that accidents happen but a total of 5 minutes notice before we were due to leave is a joke and no one available at the depot on a Saturday?! Ritchies then used a combination of hanging up on me and dodging my calls for a week. No remunerations were accepted and to be honest i am disgusted in this company - I wasnt going to take the remunerations but wanted them to admit they had at least given far below average service. They mention family values and reliability on their website nothing could be further from the truth

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible customer service. Called and explaine that I had lost something extremely valuable but I couldn't find anyone at Ritchies that was willing to help me. Spoke to Jo and she said to email Ritchies?? If I can't find anyone on the phone that is willing to listen and help, how will email do any better? She didn't care one bit how urgent and frustrating the situation was. I asked if I could speak to a manager since none of the customer reps were willing to help. She gave me a sarcastic laugh saying "over lost property?" and hung up on me. Absolutely disgusting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My school’s buses are supplied by Ritchies. On multiple occasions our bus has been late, causing us to be late for school when usually we are not, which has required explanation for the teachers. The buses themselves break down easily and are not cleaned properly. Surfaces are dusty or sticky and it’s gross. Either the doors are broken or the engine is overheating. One time we had to take a different bus because our one broke down in the middle of town. Do they even care about the maintenance of their buses? I’ve been seeing a reoccurring pattern during my experience taking the school bus. It is not our bus drivers fault she only does as much as she can let alone managing all these kids. I am blessed to say I don’t have a horrible bus driver like the one who had a mental breakdown in Maunu near our school, shouted at two students and locked the others inside against their will. This suggests that the working conditions aren’t good enough either. Some buses simply aren’t big enough for us either and are overcrowded with students to the point where there is a serious danger hazard with the amount of students standing in the way. One bus for the Whangarei suburb of Kamo isn’t enough. We go to an expensive school we should at least have better buses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great passenger transport company in tours, school, charter and urban services and Intercity. Totaly changed now. The company has been sold to KKR but so far retains the RITCHIES operating name. Keep watching this space. I suspect changes to operations will come as the new owners settle in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very poor road etiquette shown by a Ritchie's bus driver. Incredibly inconsiderate driving by not pulling over while holding up 15+ cars, to let them pass, hence nearly causing head on crashes by frustrated drivers trying to overtake. Vehicle progress was so slow it was understandable cars behind were wanting to overtake. There were plenty of safe places to pull over to let faster traffic past.
Also poor customer consideration when rung up to make an informal complaint and the recommendation to pull over in the slow vehicle bay to let traffic pass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Abysmal customer service. I lost a valuable piece of jewellery with very sentimental value and the woman on the phone didn't even ask for a description, just took my name and said she would call me if anything was found which I highly doubt. This was after trying several lines to get through to anyone since they don't bother to answer the phone. Compared to AT who were actually very helpful and thorough in determining the bus I was on before they referred me, Ritchies really could not care less about their customers which just goes to show why they are rated so poorly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These guys are shocking. The buses have been showing up on AT app, but then suddenly vanish. Most unreliable service. They also don't answer the phone, I guess others are complaining too - and on top of that, they don't contact you back. Truly lousy.
