★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a taonga! This place is amazing. We had a family stay and raft trip for three generations - grandma, parents, two young children. We loved everything about it. Gorgeous location, well-kept facilities, comfortable beds, amazing food, and a safe and fun trip down the river.
I would totally recommend this to others. And INSIST that they get a package that includes catering. The chef, Miranda, is an absolute master. Her roast vegetables with homemade pesto will go down in food history - and her rich chicken and vegetables soup was exactly what we needed to warm up after six hours on the river.
I must also give a big shout-out to Janey, who went out of her way to make sure our raft trip was a success, despite the wet weather. And it was! We all had so much fun!
Thanks River Valley Lodge, we hope to be back soon.

Adventure tourism, white water rafting, horse trekking, sauna, spa, river swimming, outdoor chess, volleyball, walking, great food, and just relaxing is all available. Ideal getaway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed here a little while back and thaught it was time to come clean and leave a review. Great stay, fantastic white water rafting but have to say Miranda.... Wow what a woman, she sure knows her way round that Kitchen like no other. She rustled up a banging roast upon arrival, pulling out all the stops, the following morning I bit into a bacon roll that tasted like it was sent from heaven, followed by vegetable samosas for lunch that equally tasted like they had been delivered by a flock of angels.
If she ever wants to leave dont let her, you will have to lock her in and pay her what shes wants.

Hospo staff very very friendly and accommodating, and the raft guides were great at facilitating our adenterous crew and them ones not so keen.
Rafting was amazing!!
Location and accommodation is stunning, and the bus is a very cool and unique place to stay. (will have to book it next time!)
Rooms were lovely and warm and well presented.
We will definitely be back!!

The location by the river , the food and staff were great and the best part is the easy 20 minute rd on the bus to a grade 5 river for rafting then get out at the lodge. So easy and fun. The guides we had were professional and fun. It’s a hidden gem of a place
