★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though it was so windy, I could enjoy the beautiful scenery and see the sea lion. I really want to go there again..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The walkway from the car park leads to a lookout towards Sandfly bay. The dusty path is through some farmland which has sheep running around it. The lookout also has quite a few interesting information boards about the area and wildlife.
There is another path which leads down to the beach. It starts with stairs but does end up being dirt and sand as you get to the beach. Going down wasn't too bad but going up was a bit of a mission.
The beach was really large and open and if you look around what you think are rocks could actually be seals. We saw more seals as we walked along the beach. They were mostly basking but some did sit up for a bit. We got to the rocks at the end of the bay and noticed more seals there so be careful if you were wanting to walk on the rocks. Really nice experience of the local wildlife although we only saw penguin footprints. Just be aware that the seals are huge and potentially dangerous so don't get too close.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to see sea lions and yellow eyed penguins if you’re lucky enough. But to see them you must keep the beach area clear otherwise they won’t come out of the sea until you have gone. They usually come up on the right end of of the beach, but if you are standing there they won’t come out of the surf. So please give them some room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A walk for the fit (up and down sand dunes) but it's free and you can see seals and sea lions and if you go at the right time of the day penguins coming ashore. I always try and visit at least once each time I come to Dunedin.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We very happily stumbled on this gewl on our drive back to town. The chance to watch the Yellow eyed penguins. I also found this to be a great spot to just enjoy the sunset. I love how few people seem to know about this spot. ps: Sorry I didn't have a longer camera lense with me at the time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful isolated place. Awesome especially on a nice sunny day. A lot of seals hang out in this area by the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place. You have to walk quite far to actually get to the beach. We didn’t have time to go to the actual beach unfortunately but would have loved to. Either way there is still a beautiful look out with information about seals etc and how to be considerate of them. We even saw a seal from very very far (cannot see in photo).
