Love this gully with fallen trees and open spaces. Eels in the creek, tree for shade and climbing and making rope swings. Tui, Piwakawaka and Rosallas +

Sandford park.is a series of interlocking trails beside streems runing through Glenview , Melville and Fitzroy suburbs of Hamilton. The grassy meadows and winding trails are a popular dog walking area.

This park is a real hidden gem, lots of trails to explore, plenty of interesting scenery, both native and exotic. A couple of really lovely bridges over the stream. Even on the busiest days you'll hardly see anyone, one of my favourite places no matter which season we're in. If you cross the road it links to the river path and through to the Hamilton Gardens, the paths on that side are all well formed concrete paths. The locals can be a bit scary but are really very friendly. I often use this park as the start of a longer ride either doing a loop through memorial Park over the Cobham and Anzac bridges or going north along the river path, that direction you can ride for hours on a fairly easy and scenic route. This park has some really easy riding great for kids looking for their first ride on a gravel with not too many hills, taught my daughter to ride here. Was great fun for the both of us. The park itself extends further than the trails with a little bit of bush wacking it's possible to go from the trail up to the isolated portion of the park on pine ave, this is a great little route although you need a good sense of direction as you don't want to stray out of the park into someone's backyard!

Went there as part of the scout keas groups to plant trees in a mud area. Interesting and seems great for biking.

Nice little park with lots of trees and singing birds enough for you to forget you are in the Suburb?
