★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My fourth visit to a Shamiana food court stand, one of the better ones I've been to. I got the curry, rice, naan and drink combo for NZ$15.50.
Good level of spice in the beef vindaloo, rice was well cooked, naan wasn't the greatest.
Would return again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Butter chicken was super sweet, I ordered a medium and it tasted of no spice what so ever, it was so sweet and sickly I couldn't finish it. Not to be horrible but it was almost disgusting.. chicken tasted as if it had been boiled/blanched too, rice was hard and clumpy, and my naan was hard.. not worth the steep price at all.

My grandson, niece and I will not be going back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think giving even a 1 star is being very generous to these guys. I am absolutely disgusted with the food and service. My husband and I have been at the upstairs Shamiana twice and both times we have had horrible experience. this time we ordered lamb, almost half of the meat was fat and not much meat, also the beef vandaloo tasted off and nothing like we have ever had before, the taste made my husband nearly throw up on the table. We went and spoke with the chef and they denied that there is anything wrong with the food, instead of apologizing and sorting something out, he kept saying "no it don't see anything wrong with the taste", so we left the food there and walked away "FOR THE SECOND TIME!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered butter chicken on menu log it came Stone cold the nann bread came plain when I ordered the cheese and garlic one the rice seemed like it was a day old one as some of it was hard like it had been cooked and sitting there. I wont be ordering from them again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was disgusting. This butter chicken is sugary and watery and it should not have been sweeter than my fizzy drink!! I couldn’t even finish this it was a hate crime to the mouth.

I really love Indian food and this can't be called Indian food. Butter chicken was served cold, says mild spicy but no spicy at all, extremely sweet instead.
I have taken this photo once I finish my dish... 1 bite was enough.
If you like Indian food you will be super disappointed, I won't recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is located inside at the food court,Westfield Riccarton mall. Just next to McDonald's junk food giant. But there are two McDonald's in Riccarton. One is a store itself outside the mall and the one within the food court. This one is next to the one inside the food court. Customer service is not that good. Just dnt feel welcomed. Prices are not moderate. I have the feeling that they need a better chef or work more on their recipes.
