★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Family run restaurant, founded in 2016, pretty new. Awesome ribs, kids menu affordable and well presented and the seafood food was incredible delicious. I was cold because I swan a bit before going to this place and after the soup, I felt comforting and back to normal. Clean and well maintained establishment, in the middle of the Main Street, great food, great staff. Will be back anytime soon! Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes for a burger and a salad. Staff were nice and said they were short staffed and very busy. It would have been nice to have been told up front that there was going to be a long wait time, as opposed to a ‘bit of a wait time’, and updated of our meals as time elapsed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just been to Smash Pipi and it was delicious (as always!) The staff are friendly and Petra and Mike always go out of their way to say hi. Hubby had the beef burger which was huge and very yummy! I had the scallop, prawn and calamari salad and the kids all had chicken nuggets and chips and everyone loved their meals.
Everyone is looking forward to heading back tomorrow ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Calamari/Prawn/Scallop Salad ever! The double beef burger was also a hit, as were the take home hot chocolate jars! Service was impeccable and the owners are wonderful! Kids are happy and already asking to come back. Thank you guys for making our first time experience epic! ?❤️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely awesome experience. Amazing food and amazing service!!! The lady (I'm assuming the manager) was very accommodating and the waitresses were lovely and fast to clear our table. Been in Whangamata a few days and this is the only cafe/restaurant my family would 100% go back to. ❤️ Keep up the great work Smash Pipi!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited abiut 45-50mins for our food. I ordered the salmon eggs benny. The salmon was so small about the size and thickness of a piece of sidewalk chalk, it was also over cooked and dry. The rest of the food was yummy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately the service was not great here over Waitangi weekend, whilst they let us know the wait would be long, it was longer than what was advised. We were all also charged more than what the price stipulated on the menu, without providing us with an explanation why (perhaps it’s the long weekend) however it would be good customer service to let us know upon payment. I got the hawker roll which cost $21 (normally $18) and it was the size of a taco. Do not recommend eating here.
