★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long day at mahi but I hit the jackpot last night, telephoned & ordered the Kiwi burger & a side of chips.
Arrived with a 2 min wait, fresh & hot I headed home to eat. What a delight on my first mouthful
delicious, checked the contents- homemade meat paddy, bacon, egg, pickles, onion, beetroot, tomato, lettuce, mustard, sauce I was in burger heaven. I must add the buns they used are out the gate! They are huge burgers & not for the faint hearted. Snapper shack I love your work

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm originally from Christchurch, now live in the north shore of auckland. My suburb has terrible fish and chips.
I came for new years and ate at snapper shack twice!! Next level burgers, fish and chips. The owners are awesome! Very welcoming. The place is busy for good reason.
My only issue would be the lack of salt on the chips. I haven't taken any stars away as it's really not that much of an issue. Highly reccomend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mussel fritters were soggy and undercooked — not easy to eat. Snapper was good but also not the freshest around. However, the kumara fries were AMAZING — 10/10 on the chips. Everything else was pretty mediocre. Friendly service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food here was pretty good. It was a bit of a wait, but I guess that's a sign that people like to eat there - and to be honest, a long wait is kind of the norm in Paihia on a nice summer day between Christmas and New Years.
