★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter had an unpleasant experience with this person: "Dodgy. In December, a friend and I booked this taxi for an intercity bus. Not only was the back of the drivers shirt ripped, he asked if we could stop by his HOUSE to get his driver license?! We said no, and he persisted but we convinced him not to. When we got out of the taxi he followed us to the cafe we were going to. The driver said ‘don’t worry I’m not following you, I’m just coming to pee’. We left and we saw him walking around the cafe reading the menu. The driver finally left half an hour after he dropped us off. Not only is this extremely unprofessional but scary. Just thought I’d write this comment to keep others aware!"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taxi to Kerikeri airport. Let down by very loose covid protocol as I see someone else has mentioned. On arriving we had masks on and were told we can (read should) remove them as ‘this is a mask free zone’. In the height of covid this was disappointing and probably illegal. Had the feeling that if he saw us wearing the masks in his van he would have got grumpy with us as it had almost felt like an instruction that we should remove our masks. Otherwise uneventful ride to the airport, on time etc. He quoted and charged $70 and said he preferred cash (for some reason the reader can deduce) but accepts bank transfer.
