 I studied for 12 weeks at Southern lakes English college. I was really happy every day for 12 weeks. The friends are very diverse in different countries and the teachers are very kind. If you always know anything, kindly smiled and let me know. Once a week, I also have the opportunity to become more familiar with my schoolmates' activities. I would recommend SLEC if you are studying in Queenstown :)

If you are looking for a good school, go to SLEC! At the reception Olga and Charlotte are sweethearts and will help you with all your initial doubts and even tips about the city. The teachers are fantastic, they understand the level of each student and help in the best way, I am very grateful to Erin, Valentina, Poppy, Marie, Marcela and Tati in particular who helped me a lot of the time. Thanks also to Kathy's support that besides being an excellent teacher is the director responsible for the school and a fantastic person. I was very happy studying at SLEC and intend to go back to do a preparatory course for IELTS in the future. Many thanks for the SLEC support ?

โ โ โ โ โ Hi, I was in SLEC for 4 weeks of study in an FCE course. I really do not advise it under any paradigm. Initially I took SLEC because It was the most competent in prices, but then I realized why. When you enter you have to pay 80 dollars for the study book, of which 40 are returned on the last day. That's a bit excessive, because you find it in the New market for only $50. Also the classes that I took were of about 13 people, because 3 teachers left the institute and had to join the Advanced, Intermediate and FCE classes. In addition, they told me that new students who want to book or attend an Advanced class will have to reserve the quota paying, that is not common, in any school that happens. Also when I arrived at the institute they told me that I was going to transport by transfer from the airport to the homestay, I thought it was included, but the next day I found out that I had to pay 80 dollars for that transport. Also, a couple of days after, the institute told me that I must to pay 120 dollars separately, because supposedly you must pay the "Public Fee", which is a public body that keeps the money for a while. Well, in summary, I do not advise you to attend that English school, I am sorry I went to it, although I met some amazing people. Good luck in the election.

My name is Alejandro. I have been studying in this school for 14 weeks. I am here because I want to tell my experience. The first thing I want to say in 'thank everyone' because this school feels like home. Everyone is frienly and I feel really confortable when I am here. I loved my classmates and teachers (Lucรญa, Tim and Erin). I loved mixing cultures (Europe, America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand), learning not only English but also about different cultures or ways to think. I want to tell you about Charlotte and Olga because they are amazing, friendly and funny. They can solve any problem inside or outside the school.
However, not everything was good. I was studying in the evening class when the school decided to eliminate the evening class. It was one week before Christmas holidays. After holidays we needed to change our job or work in the weekends because we started to study in the mornings. I can understand the reason but I completely disagree with the way the did everything. The said they will help us but the real true was that in holidays noone was there working or helping us. Then I started to thing that the student were not important we were just numbers. In January began the caos. Classes were full so no matter the level they just tried to put every student in a class. They were not thinking in the student, they were thinking in the classes. I did not like it and two weeks after Chritsmas holidays I felt very dissapointed with the school.
Finally, I decided that it is more important the good people working here than the company which think only in the money.
This school has excellent teachers I can not say anything bad about them. This is an important thing when you are deciding where you should study, and for me, this school is unbeatable in this point. Also I have to say there is a piano and it makes me very happy, it has been the best surprise since I arrived New Zealand.
I will keep in my heart everyone, no matter student or worker, who I met here, who changed me, who taught me... Because for me, at the end of the day, good things have more value than bad things.
For me this school will always be my home. I will never forget you.

โ โ โ โ โ I had such an amazing time at slec! I met amazing people that will be my lifelong friends. My teacher was wonderful and prepared me so well for the CAE! I definitively would recommend this English school to everyone. The location is also perfect. Queenstown is a great place to do a lot of activities and its just beautiful. I really miss this time a lot!
