We have been going to this restaurant for 7+, years as it's one of our favys. We will NOT be returning ever after the ongoing rudeness of the manager. We made a booking for last night, we waited over 10 mins to be addressed, the manager had seen us there and not greeted us, the young man whom was run off his feet as it was packed, no other waiters on, just him, rushed over to greet us, the manager hissed past him stating , we aren't taking anymore . Didn't even check if we had a booking.
We were seated outside, it got cold fast, the wait time for our drinks and food was ages, no so apologies from the manager,
My husband and I have had nothing but rudeness the last 3 times from this manager after we had issues with our meals awhile back, then, there was rudeness, no apologies, and ever since then it's like she's targeted us. Rude, ignores us. Not important at all, she is lovely towards you, untill it doesn't suit her, I've never in our whole time had such unwelcoming service, we thought we would try again, one more time, but to go to a restaurant and to made to feel uncomfortable is unprofessional.
I'm unsure wlhow this women even is the manager.
We will not be back and will be taking this further.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here 17/6/22 between 1-3pm. Thank goodness the food was great. The service from the young girl was appalling, she clearly didn’t want to be there and we were such an inconvenience. She was actually rude. Puts me off coming back

Slow service was a big part- garlic bread sat on the pass for several minutes, 2 coffees took half an hour to come, and my daughter’s birthday cake never made it out of its box… instead it sat on the counter until we left, with all its decorations melted and my daughter hugely disappointed that someone else got their cake brought to them but she didn’t.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was good- service needs a lot of improvement. The lady working tonight was stressed and rude, not making us feel welcome or important at all. We had a group of 12, my 4 year old (the only young child in our groups) dinner was last to be brought out. Not to mention the food and beverage wait was so long with no warning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice local pub with a good selection on the menu. Had the roast of the day (pork) and a beef burger. The meals were well presented and good size portions. The food was good but not great. The beef patti was a tad over cooked but had good flavor. The veggies with roast were cooked well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Took my mother and two children here on a cold night, expecting warm service and a hearty atmosphere. Was absolutely appalled at the customer service, especially from whom I presume was the manager. She was extremely hostile to her staff, and at one point had all the patrons staring at her while she berated a food delivery boy for absolutely no reason. No complaints about the food, but a manager with this behavior does not exemplify Southland hospitality. Will not be back again.
