About Spa Thermal Park
Wild and ancient, the river-run mountains of the Kaimanawa Forest Park have long called to adventurers and hunters. Wild horses, sika and red deer roam the park, and the mostly untouched native beech forests are alive with native birds (including kiwi), insects, the large indigenous snail Powelliphanta marchanti, and native bats.

Good for taking your kids as they are not too deep or wide, but big enough for a family to fit in together!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spa Road is a wonderful place to have a free soak. The waterfall pool below the coffee cart is good. If you walk further upstream and jump a fence, there is hot water coming through a culvert pipe. It is a less frequented, more private pool.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to Taupo for a Disc Golf event. The setup of the course at Spa Thermal Park was awesome with beautiful autumnal colours and scenery for the backdrop. The park is really cool for disc golf or family picnics or walking the dog.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to go for a refreshing splash in the cristal clear cold waters of the waikato and then end it in the relaxing and pampering hot (Really hot) thermal waters! Good spot to see the caravan of river floaters in their inflatables while having an ice cream from the in-site cafe!

It has a little food stand near the river, a little area with warm water source that connects to the cold river. It wasnt super warm but still relaxing. Would be awesome in summer times!

There is a small stream that is quite warm which makes a series of natural pool to dip yourself with family.
There is a clean Waikato river flowing nearby.
The thermal pool has lots of algae and can be slippery, be mindful. Great experience to enjoy open pool.
There are toilets and changing rooms available. The Cafe has been setup recently.
Small hike to this place after parking the car.
