We have been out twice with Spot X. Nothing caught the first time, which was right after the main holiday season, though it was a beautiful day to be out on the water. Got a few nice ones the second time. We also saw dolphins playing in the distance. Such fun. At the moment 400m has to be kept from them. Nice skippers, both very pleasant and didn’t hang around spots too long where nothing happened. The catch was shared at the end - which was fine as we caught a few - but that should be signaled at the start of the trip. We’d go again. They supply water and coffee which saves you taking it.

After 2 years trying to catch my first kingfish with not much luck I’m absolutely over the moon thanks to Terrance and spot x charters. Conditions where totally against us today, but with the skippers persistence and knowledge he turned it into a great day. Thanks again I will be back! Awesome charter and would recommend to anyone.

Beaut day out on Screaming Reels with A team Hamish and Tish. They know where the fish are and make a day out in the BOI awesome. Well run, safe and super organised duo. Thank you guys. See you in 2021

DO NOT BOOK HERE!! Honestly the worst fishing charter in the Far North. Guaranteed to spend most of time driving around & trying to get bait using up most of your time booked because even though SpotX has been doing this everyday for how long, they still don't know how much bait is enough for a trip. It's sad to even see a pattern from some of the reviews that this is how they actually make their money. The men in my family are all experienced fisherman & such a disappointment for them to go & see how this charter boat operated. Literally unorganised & a waste of money. You would most likely catch more fish off the rocks. No joke.

Absolutely fantastic Fishing Charter, we went out in the morning Snapper run with Wayne. He's a great skipper and did everything to make sure we pulled big snapper into the boat one after the other. 10/10 would recommend

8 hours, 6 fishing, 5 fish caught. It's really disappointing to have to post this as expected it would be a lot better but this was quite literally the worst charter I've been on in my life. Trip was supposed to be an 8 hour charter marketed on website as targeting Kingfish, but ended up being 8 hours of not a lot. Net results: 5 smallish fish to share between 6 people, 0 Kingfish. A few points to note: - my cousin Annalee booked and paid for 8 of us and we'd got all organized for that, but then told the night before that sorry we can only take 6 because of conditions. Why weren't we offered an opportunity to rebook to another date when conditions were better? - late pickup (scheduled for 6.45, actual time 7.05-7.10) after driving for over an hour to get there - no checking of Covid passes despite that being stated would happen. Not a biggy in itself but there's a pattern forming in what was stated not being what happens! - struggling to find baitfish and spending lots of time of the charter driving around and fishing for bait.... Despite the advertising saying all bait provided including lives. - no decent sized fish at spots that skipper went to, so decided to go to a spot his 'mate' was saying was good - spot of mate yeilded barely anything (5 fish!?) - taken to "favourite spot, loads of ****ing beauty fish here".... Nothing. - trolled for Kingfish where skipper could 'see' they were there... Nothing. - had to go get more bait fish mid trip which was a long trip across the bay during paid fishing time - very different experience and methods to other charters I've been on where we were much more successful - when questioned about lack of fish, go-to response was to blame the methods of those fishing without really bothering to coach, and without realizing that half of us were actually reasonably regular and successful recreational fishermen who have more success on other boats, and who only this summer have caught more in a few hours off the rocks near home than we did int eh whole day - stopped fishing immediately as the 8 hour mark from posted collection time came up, despite collecting us 20 mins late. Disappointing on so many levels from a highly anticipated trip One of the main disappointments was the misleading around targeting. We're aware that on a Kingfish charter you can go for other fish too, but thought it was predominantly going to be kingis and if conditions weren't going to allow that, we should've been alerted earlier and offered a chance to reschedule or leave at a better time. Love to hear how it could be made good. Hope the operator notices.

Had a great half day out on this smaller fishing charter. The guide knew the area well and we were hauling out the flash faster than we could take them off the line!
