★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a hit or miss. Have had to take my coffees back in because they weren't flat whites and they were only half full.
Have had to biff a few things that I've ordered to go. Buuuut they do amazing burgers!!!! I'll see if I have a photo somewhere! They were tasty and I'd definitely buy them again. They were super busy on Easter weekend when I was in last so obviously the service wasn't great and they kept forgetting things for my order so I had to hover at the counter next to the long line of people awkwardly who kept thinking I was pushing in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here on our way to Christchurch, expecting to buy a sandwich or a pie. Ended up buying some fried chicken, made in store! The chicken was delicious although the dining area and food service area could have been a bit cleaner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mixed review, Pepper meat pie was fantastic and counter service was great.
Not so great, the sandwich was a bit dry and on a beautiful day you like to sit outside and the tables were absolutely awful, we didn't want to sit there but there was no where else, they definitely could do with cleaning, even my husband commented, it doesn't take much, soapy water and a cloth, what a difference it would make. 2.5 stars

I haven’t stopped here for 20 years !
Because it still looks the old worn out cafe from the road….
Then as a friend pulled over & I followed….. what a superb food layout indoors.
Seal of approval with the awesome eatables. Great pies.
BUT
maybe to start by giving the building a clean fresh welcoming Càfe paint job on the outside would entice traffic to stop and explore within. I’m guessing most would not even know it’s there…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The pie and coffee was excellent. The gentleman serving us was most helpful and very pleasant.
However the notes all over the place on what to do or not do reminded me of a kindergarten. The ambience, the state of the outside both in the garden surrounds and outside furniture left a lot to be desired.
Not being allowed to sit inside or the kitchen was hard to fathom out given the Covid regulations allowed for such.
And finally the interior wasn't very inviting...
