★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here to take our toddler to the toilet, my partner accidently walked into the shower block thinking it was the toilets only to be abused by what we presume was the owner as she came running out of her caravan flailing her arms. Terrible ambassador for the Nz tourist industry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice grounds and good shower pressure but we became quite put off by all the rules and micromanagement e.g. in the kitchen. My dad also felt hurried while in the bathroom when it was about to be cleaned. And don't bother using their toaster. You get what you pay for I guess. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived almost at midnight and the lady welcomed us anyway and very kindly. Though is not a modern place, campground is quite big, grass is really well maintained and all the facilities are clean and tidy. Great for a good price.

We really enjoyed the environment.
The facilities are well maintained and the people taking care of the facilities are very nice!
Stayed there for 110$/week/2p
Free toilets are also available for anyone.
Make sure you respect the speed limit :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good, basic site and excellent value for money. Friendly manager who keeps the site neat and tidy. Sandwiched between SH1 and the railway line but neither particularly intrusive. Facilities basic but clean and functional. We'll go back on our next trip to New Zealand.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We spent a nice night there. The facilities were not modern, but everything was clean, tidy and worked fine. A nice touch was the lovely well tended flower beds dotted around the site.
The site Manager was a great character and I really enjoyed my chat with him.
My only disappointment as an ex cricketer, was that this site was not now used for cricket matches? Could see that once it had been a thriving club and wondered what stories it could tell!
The railway is close by so if you are a light sleeper you may get disturbed, but other that this site is good value and very welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and quiet campground. Heaps of space for all kinds of vehicles. Clean facilities, hot showers and friendly reception.
Next to motorway, easy for good night's sleep so you can continue your road trip well rested.
