About Steiner Cottage
Our teachers work from the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum ‘Te Whariki’, the principles of Waldorf education and alongside our philosophy as we honor Aotearoa as a bi-cultural nation.
Our aim is to protect and promote the joy and wonder of childhood. We endeavour to nurture and support each child’s potential through our understanding of the Waldorf Education indications. We provide an environment which offers a safe and loving atmosphere that invites our children to achieve in ways that honour and value diversity.
Governance and Management
We are owned and governed by a Trust (Wellington Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten Trust), consisting of Trustees who are passionate about the success of The Cottage. They aim to meet anywhere between six weekly and termly depending on the workload.
The Centre Manager (Jaci Gilbertson) and Head Teacher (Jess Crayford) jointly hold the responsibility of day to day management to ensure the smooth running of the Cottage.
