STERLING AFTERCARE GUARANTEE

The Sterling Aftercare Guarantee was introduced by Sterling Japan, a decade ago, to address the dearth of after sales service providers for automobiles that are imported to Sri Lanka by independent vehicle importers. The warranty offers a two-year cover for the engine and transmission system of a vehicle, as well as a three-year cover for the hybrid battery (if so equipped).

What we assure under this warranty is the deliverance of a vehicle that is carefully selected after a thorough and scientific inspection of its condition. Our relationship with the customers extends far beyond the point of sale, where we are geared to provide all related maintenance and repair services at our state-of-the-art facilities.

We will move forward with the rapidly advancing automobile technology, while always staying true to our ethos of giving you the assurance to drive with confidence.

ABOUT STERLING JAPAN

Sterling Japan was founded in 1999 in Funabashi, Japan with the objective of supplying high quality Japanese automobiles to overseas markets. Today the company supplies more than 50% of Sri Lanka’s requirement for reconditioned vehicles in Sri Lanka. Currently, Sterling exports vehicle units of Japanese and European brands to the Island and each of these is exported with the Sterling Aftercare Guarantee.

Majority of the reputed car dealers in Sri Lanka have partnered with Sterling to supply vehicles to the domestic market, where the company today works with a network of more than 200 importers island-wide. We had really bad experience with Madhava and team. They just ruined our day. We went to purchased one of mazda axela and deal was done and suddenly madhava ( so called director) increase the price just like that. Then he put someone else to deal with and he was hiding inside the office bcs he wants increase the price. Please be aware about this guys and don’t go there to buy any cars. Please don’t take their words they just turn back from their words really easily.

Waste of time, Does not even contact/reply or notify the clients about the car they enquired about. Was told that I would get a call after the mechanics checked out a ticking noise before purchasing, never received a call even after emailing/texting multiple employees.

After an initially shaky start when no one could find the find the car advertised for sale on their website we were fortunate enough to meet Shanaya Te Wao who immediately took charge and made our problem her problem. Shanaya went the extra mile for us, initially tracking down the car, then securing it for us. It was not a quick process but Shanaya kept us informed of what was happening every step of the way and was really easy to deal with - and in the end we came away with a very nice little car at a good price. if you are wanting to purchase a vehicle from Sterling Cars I'd strongly recommend asking for Shanaya, you won't regret it.

I purchased Toyota Corolla Fielder 2016, it has turned out to be a great decision. The car offers good value for money I've spent, very pleased and satisfied with the purchase. The guy over there - Bhanuka and all the other staff involved offered Great customer handling and proactive approach towards all the queries. He provided right advice about the different options available and closed the deal on my expectations.

This people have no customer service, they don’t stick to their words or deals that have been agreed, once something has been agreed and confirmed they will change their mind, their cars are not groomed/polished properly, once you make a non refundable deposit, they will send the cars off for a quick clean/panel beating etc because they have your deposit which is non refundable and then you won’t have a choice to opt out as you will loose money. The cars don’t look any better then before the panel beating, also they just do spot polishes instead of full car. Be careful when dealing with this kind of people and handing over money.

Arrogance and poor customer service are the key takeaways from this dealer. Unnecessarily made us wait and spend 3 hours without any apology. We could have ignored it if they had a better attitude towards their customers. Walked into another dealer, struck the perfect deal and left with a much better vehicle. Madhav & team maybe right in saying that their low price is enough to ensure their continuing sales and they don’t care about every sale, but I would say lose your arrogance or stick with your B2B instead of delving into retail.

Terrible experience, waste of time, and a complete lack of professionalism. Booked a test drive for a Friday. Few hours before the test drive, they confirmed the time. Then when we were about to leave for the dealer, they called saying the car hasn't been delivered to the yard yet. I'm confused on why they would allow bookings for a car which they don't even possess. Next they say the car will be here next Monday. Car doesn't show up till Wednesday. So we book a test drive for Wednesday 10am, drive 30 minutes there. As we park outside, we get a call saying the car is not there AGAIN because it's been taken for a compliance check. Again, why allow bookings for a car which hasn't passed NZ compliance and again not in their yard? They said the car will be back in one and a half hour. We waited in the area for 2 hours, gave up, and went home. 3.5 hours after the time for booked for, we get a call saying the car is back. At this point we've lost trust in this dealership. Despite the low prices they offer, I will not spend my money here where there is a complete lack of professionalism. If you get treated this badly before you even buy the car, I could only imagine how much worse it will be after you buy the car.
