I had small plate of prawns and was just right.
Husband had spare ribs and boy were they meaty .He was "stumped" in the fact he could not eat a dessert.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed for 1 night great size room super king bed great price. Irish lady at reception was very friendly and help full. The young gentleman and 2 young ladies on the restaurant floor were 5☆ service and the food was 100% bang on, lamb rump and pork belly 1 meal could of feed both of us. We definitely know we're to go now when visiting Hokitika ☆☆☆☆☆

My colleague took me to this place for lunch between our business appointments.
The choice for vegetarian was limited but what I was served was sumptuous and tasty. The service was good and prompt.
I saw that the place was quite busy even during evenings, which is always a good sign.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m never one to complain on here about anything but we received shocking service. The girl behind the bar seemed so uninterested in her job and seemed like she didn’t want to service us. No smile or hello. They didn’t pay any attention to what we ordered as it wasn’t correct and we also asked for a menu to look at and the waitress told us we had to go and get our own making it seem like she couldn’t be bothered bringing us one. They weren’t too busy where they would have been under pressure so the service should have been good. I’ve seen other reviews of people having the same experience as mine which is really disappointing. This place has potential to be really good if the staff actually wanted to be there and wanted to give great customer service. I am understanding and do get that this is a stressful time for everyone but it doesn’t take much to give a lasting impression on someone. We always make sure to return to restaurants where we have received great customer service and I’m sure others are exactly like me. Work on your customer service and I think you would have a great place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Relaxing, outdoor seating, loved the vegetarian platter and the pork belly. Food well priced for what you get. Quality pub food. Kids loved their platter and were full unlike a lot of other places we go to. I don't normally take the trouble to rate places but I have to thoroughly recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dog friendly must be on a leash outside. Table's outside were very busy. Walked around the town and came back around the hr, finding a free table outside . The beers were lovely and cold . We ordered a plate of pork ribs salid and chips . The ribs were cooked to perfection . Staff friendly and helpful .
