The hosts are very obliging, however, they lacked that level of professionalism that one expects in travel. Although collected from the railway station (and returned there, if applicable), the hosts dismissed the other immediate needs of guests...

β β β β β We booked our stay at the Sundowner Motel in Greymouth on a Thursday evening last month. We caught the TranzAlpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth, stayed the night, then caught it back to Christchurch the following day.
We were picked up by the lovely owner and taken to the motel (despite it only being just across the road), she was very kind and drove us so we didn't have to bring our bags up the hill.
We were shown to our room and given a map with some information by our drivers lovely husband (also the owner).
Upon arrival, our room was already warm (which is necessary in winter) and everything available for us. Whilst this motel is not flash, it's incredibly comfortable and above all, CLEAN!!! Clean as a whistle!
I can be a bit, hmm, fussy? fastidious? concerned? when it comes to cleanliness and often it leads me to not be able to sleep well in hired accommodation. Sundowner Motel was one of the only places I have ever been in which I was actually able to sleep easy because it was SO clean! Not a spot of dirt or dust anywhere, what a relief for me!
I highly rate this motel, it's owners and their staff, with their attention to detail and care for their guests. If you are looking for some real Kiwi hospitality which is super clean, this is your place!!

β β β β β We have been here since Monday it's great Murray and Wendy are great and very welcoming it's lovely peaceful and we have cooking facilities in our rooms well worth staying here check it out.And we are back again great when your working away from home and staying in a place like this it is home away from home Wendy ,Murray and their staff are great

β β β β β Probably one of the cleanest motels we have ever stayed at.Owner was real friendly and helpful.On the room key was a swipe card that got 10% off at monteiths brewery where we went for dinner.
