★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Of significance are the old fashioned roses planted by the early pioneers inside the gate. These were part of the Joy Chapman's preservation of roses brought out by early miners' wives as cuttings placed in potatoes to keep these moist and fed. The collection won a world wide rose award. There is a plaque recording these goldfields heritage roses.
